New Honda Civic Type-r 2017 TURBO
Honda’s calling this a concept car, but it gives us a great idea of what the Civic Type R will look like when it comes to the market in 2017.
Technically this is still a concept even though it looks production-ready. And that means Honda has been silent on how much power it will get. The current Type R that’s on sale in Europe makes 306 horsepower from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and we’ve heard a rumor the new one will have a full 340 horses from that same engine.
The Civic Type R concept made its U.S. debut at SEMA in November. The production car will be unveiled in 2017, alongside the new Civic Si. When the production Type R arrives in the U.S., it will be the first Honda to wear that performance badge officially imported to this country.
And if the production version drives as aggressively as it looks, this thing is going to be outstanding.
